Getting Started

The QTalk® method of language instruction can be used as a core curriculum, or as a supplement to increase conversation production in the classroom.

Seven Reasons to try the QTalk method in your classroom today:

  1. Visual "cues" enable students to think and speak in a new language -- with ease.
  2. Awaken the language learner within EVERY student; now EVERY student can speak fluently.
  3. Students speak in complete sentences from the first lesson - you get to skip all those boring grammar drills and vocabulary word lists.
  4. Colorful, engaging, deeply intuitive visual mnemonics delivered in multiple formats to support ALL learning styles, and ALL classroom setups: magnetic flashcards, Smart board lessons, online games, conversation tools, and much more! Perfect for the differentiated classroom.
  5. It really WORKS: Maurice Hazan's revolutionary language instruction is method based on cognitive science and twenty years of classroom experience.
  6. Easy for any teacher to adopt with minimal training: Hundreds of schools and thousands of teachers are using these PROVEN techniques that you can begin to use right now in YOUR classroom. We support you every step of the way with webinars, documentation, videos, secure customer forums, and email newsletters - or give us a call anytime you need help.
  7. No need to switch! QTalk materials can be used as core curriculum or as a supplement to the curriculum you are already using.

We recommend you begin with the core "In Pictures" curriculum components for your students' cognitive stage (age and grade level).

The curriculum covered in our Seed (Lower Elementary) and Sprout (Upper Elementary) series is based on the average schedule of two 30-minute classes per week.

The curriculum covered in our Sapling (Middle School/High School) series is based on the average schedule of two 45-minute classes per week.

For programs that meet more than twice a week, we provide additional materials for expanding exposure and practice of new vocabulary and concepts.

For immersion programs, we provide an excellent "on ramp" to introduce vocabulary and grammar while only speaking the target language.

For programs with requirements to measure attainment of performance objectives: our printable worksheets, Assessment Sticker Booklets, and classroom games provide ample opportunity to measure each student's performance while maintaining a fun and relaxed classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.

For younger students we provide a wide variety of tools to engage their short attention spans.

The groundbreaking QTalk® method is flexible enough for virtually any instructional setting. Technology is helpful, but it is not essential for using this method. This is not "self study" material. For true language learning, a teacher is essential.

QTalk® language instruction full curriculum is available for Spanish, French, and Chinese (Mandarin) languages. (Curriculum is now under development for English, and we have curriculum bundles in development for several other languages), with pre-release promotions available to those who would like to order now, and receive the materials upon completion later in Spring 2012.

You are our reason for doing what we do. We want you to be successful implementing the QTalk® method with your students.

For DLS customers and Premiere homeschool customers we offer secure customer-only forums and periodic webinar-based inservice trainings.

The QTalk® products are intended as modular components. We suggest you begin by identifying your most important goal, and purchasing at least the minimum products and subscriptions to make some measurable progress toward that goal.
